How it works

1

Upload your file

Drag and drop your LAS, LAZ, E57, or PLY file. Swyvl handles multi-part upload for large point clouds up to several gigabytes.

2

View in the browser

Your point cloud opens in a Potree-based 3D viewer. Orbit, pan, zoom, colour by height or intensity, and take measurements — all in your browser.

3

Share with clients

Generate a branded share link. Your client opens it in their browser — no account, no software, no plugins required.

Supported formats

Format Description
LAS Industry-standard point cloud format from LiDAR scanners and photogrammetry software
LAZ Compressed LAS — same data, smaller file size for faster uploads
E57 Open standard for 3D imaging data, commonly used with terrestrial laser scanners
PLY Polygon file format supporting point clouds with colour and normal data

What you can do

3D orbit, pan, and zoom

Navigate your point cloud from any angle with smooth mouse and trackpad controls. Works on desktop and mobile.

Colour by height, intensity, or classification

Switch between colour modes to visualise elevation, return intensity, or point classification codes.

Measurement tools

Measure distances and areas directly in the 3D viewer. Useful for quick checks before exporting to CAD or GIS.

GPS positioning on map

Georeferenced point clouds are automatically placed on an interactive map, so you always know where the data is from.

Share with clients

Generate a branded share link for any file or session. Your client opens it in their browser and sees the point cloud in the same 3D viewer — no account or software required on their end.

Branded delivery

Add your logo and brand colours. Paid plans remove "Powered by Swyvl" for a fully white-labelled experience.

Password protection

Restrict access with a password. Only people with the link and password can view your deliverables.

Download tracking

See who viewed and downloaded your files. Full audit trail with timestamps, IP addresses, and location data.

Frequently asked questions

Can I view LAS files in a browser?

Yes. Swyvl uses a Potree-based 3D viewer to render LAS, LAZ, E57, and PLY point cloud files directly in your browser. There is no software to download or install — just upload your file and view it instantly.

Is the point cloud viewer free?

Yes. The Swyvl Free plan includes 5 GB of storage, 3 sites, and 5 active share links — enough to upload, view, and share point clouds at no cost. No credit card required. Paid plans offer more storage, unlimited sites, and custom branding. See pricing for details.

What's the maximum file size?

The Free plan includes 5 GB of total storage. Paid plans start at 100 GB (Solo) and go up to 500 GB+ (Team), with optional overage at $0.05/GB/month. Individual files can be up to several gigabytes — Swyvl uses multi-part upload to handle large point clouds reliably.

Can my clients view without installing software?

Yes. When you share a point cloud via a Swyvl share link, your client opens it in their browser — no account, no software, no plugins. They can orbit, pan, zoom, and explore the full 3D point cloud on any modern device.

Do you support E57 files?

Yes. Swyvl supports E57 files alongside LAS, LAZ, and PLY. E57 files are processed for browser-based viewing when uploaded. The viewer renders them using the same Potree-based 3D engine used for all point cloud formats.
