Can my clients view point clouds without installing software?
Yes. Swyvl renders LAS and LAZ files using WebGL directly in the browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Your client clicks the link you send them and the point cloud loads. No CloudCompare, no QGIS, no specialist software required.
What file formats does Swyvl support for surveyors?

How does Swyvl compare to sending files via Dropbox or WeTransfer?
Dropbox and WeTransfer store and transfer files — your client still needs specialist software to open them. Swyvl renders every file in the browser and presents them in a branded share link. Your client sees the data immediately. You see who viewed it and when.

How large a file can I upload?
Swyvl supports multipart upload for files up to hundreds of gigabytes. Large LAS files, full-site E57 scans, and high-resolution GeoTIFFs are all supported. If you have an unusually large dataset, contact us.
Does Swyvl store data in Australia?
Yes. Australia is the default data region. Your data is stored in Wasabi's ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region by default. You can choose from 8 regions on every plan, set at signup: AU, US East, US West, UK, EU, Canada, Japan, Singapore.
How do we share a scan with a client whose IT locks down their machines?
Send a share link. It opens in any browser with nothing to install and no plugin, so there is nothing for IT to approve. The usual snag is a corporate web filter that blocks generic file-sharing hosts; in the Australian region Swyvl serves file bytes from its own domain for exactly that reason, and can do the same in other regions on request.
Can the client measure on it without an account?
Yes. Point, distance, area and height tools appear on the share link for anyone who opens it, on every plan. Every measurement carries a badge saying which frame its numbers are in. Measurements are for the session and are not saved, so the client cannot change your delivery.
Can I send the point cloud, the ortho and the 360 photos in one link?
Yes. A share link covers a site, so everything from the job goes out on one link: scans, orthomosaics, 3D models, Xgrids captures, 360 photos, video, drawings and PDFs. Each file opens in its own viewer and the client moves between them with a filmstrip. You can add files after the link has been sent.
Can I give the client the map without handing over the original photos?
Yes. Set the link to view-only and the client can look at everything in the browser without downloading a file, and you choose which files each link includes, so the source photos can stay out of it altogether.
Does the link still work next year?
Yes. Share links do not expire. A client who needs the delivery for a dispute or an audit a year later opens the same link, and the activity log of who opened what is kept for two years.
Can the client see the site the way it was last quarter?
Every visit you upload becomes a dated collection on the same site, and a link set to include future uploads shows each new collection as it lands. In your workspace the site's timeline lays the collections out by date.
