Swyvl vs ATIS.cloud
These are not the same product. ATIS.cloud is a deep reality-capture workspace for laser-scanning teams, with saved measurements, an annotation task system and a browser CAD editor. Swyvl is a delivery platform and site record for everything a survey or drone job produces, sent as one branded link that does not expire.
Everything below about ATIS comes from their own website and public help centre, read on 11 September 2026. We have not tested their product. Where we could not confirm something, the page says so rather than guessing.
The short answer
Choose ATIS.cloud if the scan is the work. If your team marks up point clouds over weeks, needs volumes and height profiles, assigns annotations to people with due dates, or draws walls over a scan to get to BIM, ATIS does things Swyvl does not do at all.
Choose Swyvl if the delivery is the work. If a job ends with an orthomosaic, a point cloud, a flight video, a set of 360° photos and a PDF report that all have to reach a client who will not install anything, Swyvl opens every one of those in a browser and keeps them anchored to the site and the date.
The clearest practical differences: ATIS saves measurements and Swyvl does not, and Swyvl links never expire while ATIS links stop after seven days on every plan below their top tier.

Six things they do that we either do worse or do not do. If any of these decide your purchase, they are the better buy and you should not take our word for the rest.
Measurements that persist
ATIS saves measurements and annotations to the project, where every collaborator sees them. Swyvl measurements live for the session and vanish when the tab closes. If your work is marking up a scan over weeks, that difference decides it.
A deeper measurement toolset
Volume from a placed 3D box, circle from three points, perpendicular distance, delta XYZ, height profile, density and a slice plane. Swyvl has point, distance, area and height, and no volume at all.
Annotations as real tasks
Assign an annotation to someone, set a due date and a priority, attach a file, and let them comment on it. Swyvl has no annotation feature.
Scan to BIM, in the browser
ATIS.cad draws walls, doors, rooms and slabs over the scan, with DWG, DXF, IFC and PDF export. Add the Revit and ALLPLAN plug-ins and it reaches into the CAD application. Swyvl does none of this.
Comparing captures
Point cloud against IFC model for deviation, cloud against cloud, and automatic alignment of a model to a scan. Swyvl shows two captures side by side but does not compute the difference.
Very large single files
Their help centre gives 200 GB per file by default, extendable past 1.4 TB on request. Swyvl caps a single upload at 100 GB.
Where Swyvl is stronger
Mostly a question of scope. ATIS goes deep on the scan. Swyvl covers the whole delivery and what happens to it afterwards.
The whole deliverable, not just the scan
ATIS's accepted file types do not include GeoTIFF, PDF, video, standalone photos or 360° panoramas. A survey job produces all of those. On Swyvl the orthomosaic, the report, the flight video and the scan sit in one link, each in the viewer built for it.
The link does not expire
Below their top tier an ATIS public link stops working after 7 days. Swyvl links stay live until you revoke them, which is the whole point when a client comes back in eighteen months.
A price you can read
ATIS publishes no prices and their entry tier starts at four users. Swyvl is free to start, $49 a month for one person, and the client who opens your link never costs a seat.
Sites on a map, not projects in a list
Every file is anchored to a physical location and a capture date, so the same site accumulates visits you can read back. ATIS projects carry a location field but no map-anchored record.
Branding without an Enterprise contract
Your logo and colours on every share link from $49 a month. On ATIS the branded interface is described as an Enterprise perk.
You choose the region, on any plan
Eight named storage regions, picked at signup, and the data never leaves the one you chose. Ask ATIS to put their residency position in writing before you assume it matches.

Which one fits your work
Pick ATIS.cloud if
- Your deliverable is the scan itself, and people work inside it for weeks.
- You need volumes, height profiles or deviation against a BIM model.
- Measurements have to persist and be shared across a team.
- You want annotations assigned to people with due dates and status.
- Scan-to-BIM in the browser, or streaming a cloud into Revit, is part of the job.
- You have at least four seats and are comfortable asking for a quote.
Pick Swyvl if
- A job ends with several file types and one client who will not install anything.
- You send orthomosaics, drone video, 360° photos or PDF reports as well as scans.
- The link has to still work when they come back in two years.
- You want the same site to accumulate dated visits you can read back.
- Your logo on the link matters and you are not buying an Enterprise plan.
- You need to choose the country your data sits in.
- You are one person, or a small team, and want a price on the website.
They are not mutually exclusive. Plenty of teams will mark up a scan somewhere specialised and still need one link that carries the whole delivery to the client.
Questions people ask about both
Does ATIS.cloud handle Gaussian splats and Xgrids scans?
Yes. Their accepted file types include PLY splats, SPZ, SPLAT, KSPLAT, SOG and Xgrids LCC and LCC2 projects uploaded as a ZIP. Splat support is not a reason to choose between the two. Swyvl reads the same set, and adds a walk mode for LCC2 scenes.
Can my client measure on a link from either one?
Yes, on both, with no account. ATIS lets you switch the tool palette on or off per link. Swyvl puts point, distance, area and height on share links, though the measurements are not saved when the tab closes.
What does ATIS.cloud cost?
They do not publish prices. As of 11 September 2026 all three tiers say "request a quote", Standard starts from four users and Advance from ten, billing is in euros, and some operations are metered in tokens whose price is also unpublished. Swyvl publishes its prices: free, $49 and $199 a month.
Do share links expire?
On ATIS, yes. Their help centre gives seven days on Freemium, Standard and Access Advanced, with unlimited duration only on Advanced at fifteen or more users. Swyvl links have no expiry and stay live until you revoke them.
Can the recipient download the files?
Not from an ATIS public link. Their help centre is explicit that visitors cannot retrieve point clouds, models or any file. For some work that is exactly what you want. Swyvl gives you the choice per delivery.
Where is the data stored?
Swyvl stores your files in one of eight regions you choose at signup, and they never leave it. ATIS markets data sovereignty in 22+ countries, while their privacy policy of March 2026 says data is hosted on servers in France. If residency decides your purchase, ask them to confirm the answer in writing.
